The Office of Dr. Lynne P Clark, Surgeon
Dr. Clark is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in breast diseases. She started private practice in Norfolk, Virginia in 1992 and chose to relocate to Tacoma, Washington in 1998. Since 2000, she has been in solo practice. In July 2012 she joined Franciscan Medical Group. She has limited her practice to surgery of the breast, thyroid, parathyroid and melanoma. The majority of the practice is dedicated to breast cancer and other breast problems. She performs her own breast ultrasounds and minimally invasive breast biopsies in the office using the latest technology. BRCA genetic testing for appropriate patients is offered in the office. She is involved in the multidisciplinary breast conference each week in Tacoma and was the moderator of this conference for several years.
She received her B.A. degree from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. Her M.D. degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Her surgical residency was done at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. She became board certified by the Board of Surgery in 1994. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She treats over 200 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients each year. She follows several hundred breast cancer patients on an annual basis. She strives to stay on the cutting edge for the management of breast cancer patients. She uses the latest tools for breast biopsies: Mammatome, Intact, Celero, as well Bard Vacora instruments. She places many different types of partial breast radiation catheters including SAVI, Contura, Mammosite. She works with clinicians in offering her patients involvement in clinical trials. She prides herself with documenting her cases in the Mastery Program through the American Society of Breast Surgeons ( there are only 500 other breast surgeons in the country that actively participate in this program).
